Thank you. I figured it was a fair price. Montreal desperate for a top 6 centre, will cost some valuable pieces for sure. Sabres benefit from this as well, eichel and middelstat are the 1-2 punch for years to come there, while adding 3 2nds and some quality young wingers who have top 9 potential.

There are several different methods to determine the value of picks. One method uses the value that GM's have placed on picks by comparing trades that only involved picks. Another method evaluated the players picked. Using the 1st method the 3 seconds would be equal (or a manager would accept at trade) to a about a 27th over all. Using the 2nd, the 3 picks are equal to a much higher 1st round. I like using the one developed comparing GM's made involving only picks. So that is why I said it was a good trade.
