Description
Washington is "Possibly going to lose" 1st round series against CBJ. If that happens, i can see them trying to shed some cap & revamp there roster... MTL has tons on cap space, and needs a C.

I dont want to trade patches, but for some reason every other habs fan does. We had an off year this year, and your giving up on a consistent 30 goal scorer.

Not every Habs fan wants to trade Patches. Max, Drouin, Hudon, and Lehkonen down the LW with Danault, Galchenyuk, Poehling, Byron at C and Gallagher, Scherbak, Evans, Shaw for RW we could make it work. Most Habs fans are just suggesting that we trade Patches to jumpstart a full rebuild.

So Backstrom and a cap dump (Orpik) for Chucky, a 4/5th D-man with a bad salary (Alzner), Jack Hughes/Alex Newhook (2019 1st), and Quinton Byfield/Alexis Lafreniere/Jamie Drysdale/Alexander Holtz/Lucas Raymond (2020 1st)

So you predict the MTL will finish low again and going for a great 1st rnd pick as all the name you mention will be TOP 5 probably!
Adding JVR & Statsny to that roster should make them in the playoff run... + Backstrom... maybe back on top?

Patches needs a change IMO i wished we didn't reach this point with him but giving him the "c" and not having an established top-6 center to play with just weighs too much on him and he is entering the last year of his deal, for me it's the same scenario that Lucic went through in 2015. Bruins fans still loved him, but it was time for a change. Not to mention they got an awesome return for him.
