Arizona does not seem like a logical trading partner...they have Kuemper signed and all signs point to them re-signing Raanta as well.

You're right that they've got Kuemper as back up! Mess up there. Thought they were short. Anyway, a buyout is in order in the case they don't find a trade partner.

I am SO not with you on that "it's a steal for Tanev". The guy is not worth much. Don't overestimate his value 'coz you love your team so much. He hasn't done anything usefull for them in a long time. He's falling out of favor with the management. GM's know that, they can SEE his play. His value was once significantly higher, but not right now it isn't. The 'Nucks need to make room on D and they just resign Gudbranson (which I totally HATE and would have traded, but they won't because, you know, they extended him) so Tanev becomes the guy who must go. Look at what teams have paid to obtain guys like Tanev in the past. It's pretty much in that ball park. Brendan Smith comes to mind, traded at the deadline (so the return is higher than it should be because...trade deadline!), he fetched a 2nd & a 3rd. Don't tell me he was worst at the time of the trade than Tanev is right now or you'd be straight up lying.
