Signings: I like the Stecher signing a lot. As for Baertschi, you've seriously underpaid him. I'd give around $3.75M-$4.75M on a 4-5 year contract. I'd also give Virtanen and Pouliot under $2M with one less year in term than what you gave them.

Trades: That Tanev trade would be the ideal return honestly. The Ryan trade makes zero sense though. Why would you trade a 24 year old, top 6 LW for a old bottom 9 RW who has a horrendous contract? I'd want at least a 1st and another high pick coming back for taking that thing on.

Lines: Nice job

I might have given you a 4 stars, but that Ryan trade threw me off Sticking Out Tongue

Bearstchi will probably get around 3 million but I think that's still too much. He didn't play a lot of games this year and his production can easily dip next year too like granlund. I like the idea of giving him two million. Honestly I'm a huge fan of stecher, if benning wanted to make him the highest paid defenseman on the team I'd like it. He's so good defensively and his production could be even better if he got first line powerplay time instead of edler.think of it, the Canucks power play was great this year. I agree with giving virtanen and pouliot less, because they simply haven't earned it yet. But if they keep up the way they've been playing, they should get the raise. I like the Tanev trade. Nilsson could probably get a 1-3 rounds higher than that. I agree with what @MrBooth said about the Ryan trade.

I can see Nilsson getting moved but islanders have a log jam in net. Baertschi will get slightly more. 2.5-3.5M. Tanev deal would be great but Leafs wont part with TL. Maybe Nielsen instead. I like the lines.

If it weren't for injuries, Baertschi was set to put up career highs in each of his last two seasons, as he did three seasons ago. He's done well and improved each year in Vancouver so far. If you gave $3M, it'd probably have to be a bridge, two year contract - but that's when he hits his prime at 27. Which is why you may be able to lock him up for longer as of now as opposed to being forced to massively overpay in two years. That's my point of view at least. I agree regarding Stecher, and while I highly, highly doubt it I think a bridge contract and then signing the long term deal is more beneficial to make sure he doesn't pull a Ben Hutton and falter. His numbers would definitley improve with PP time and he fits the bill for the PP1 quarterback (if we don't get Dahlin). Same with Virtanen and Pouliot, just bridge contracts. I'd be surprised if we even get a 6th for Nilsson after the season he had. I don't remember the exact numbers, but I believe he had around a GAA of 3.50 and a SVP just hovering around .900%? That doesn't scream value to me Sticking Out Tongue
