You would have to do way better than that to make the Islanders be crippled with those contracts for just a prospect

Ryan at 5.25 M is not a terrible contract, he's really close to his value at 5.25 M. Smith is a good 3rd liner and Brown can become their 2nd line C within the next 2 years, add him to Barzal and the other young players they will draft would give them a good start to their re-build.
