Habs overpay Bozak, under pay Hanifin. Also Hurricanes need to get more in that trade, Pacioretty only has 1 year left on his contract, while Gauthier is probably going to become as good of a player as Pacioretty. Gauthier a top prospect as well as star defensemen Noah Hanifin in exchange for a guy who has 1 year left on his contract.

I agree with the underlying premise that there's not enough in the Pacioretty deal to make Carolina part with the sainted Noah, but you might want to revisit the Gauthier scouting reports. He's earning third- and fourth-line minutes in Charlotte and had 16 points in 56 games. He's being viewed as a likely plugger/grinder in the NHL, assuming he ever gets there.
