Description

Continue to draft high end defensemen. Hughes will be a future top pairing D man. John Moore will be a good shut down d man for many years. Trade Anisimov and Murphy to aqcuire good pieces for future and at the same time create cap space to resign Schmaltz and Sikura in 2019 summer. With this team hawks will probably make playoffs next season with crow back, young guns develop to better players etc. Komarov, Danault and Moore will help this team also a lot, especially on penalty kill. For 2019-2020 season go with these young forward group and add Jokiharju and Mitchell on the defense. Both of them should be impact players by then. Hughes - Jokiharju, Keith - Seabrook, Moore - Mitchell should be pretty good defense. In 2020 summer, there will be a compliance buyout for Seabs, so we have cap space to sign our young d core easily. Win cup 3 times in a row after it.

The Jackets can't afford to take on Anisimov's cap hit straight up. It works this next year, but not the year after when we have Panarin and Bobrovsky and Werenski to sign.
