Mode - plafond salarial: Basique

Buffalo trade: bunch of loose change and spare parts, I think some of these guys need a change of scenery. Overall, a very low impact trade... gives the Sabres a backup, a defensive defenseman (a need) and a speedy energy forward who can play up the roster in a pinch.

Detroit gets a young RD who is playing well - on track for over 20 points this year (despite very little PP time) and is +6 on a roster that is overwhelmingly minus - and a 2nd for AA. Benning will cost less to sign than AA - probably something like $2M x 3, as he's not very high profile.

Ottawa needs centers, I am offering one for Karlsson without an extension in place. This assumes Ottawa decides this summer that they can't / won't re-sign him based on his ask, so they get an above average 2C who is young (24) and under team control for 3 more years. Both teams win. Okay, I know you guys are going to go ballistic over this one, but remember that this isn't meant to be player-to-player value, but 1 x Karlsson vs 3 x RNH. Ottawa will likely be able to afford to re-sign RNH when the time comes, too.

Arizona needs someone to defend, this Russell does with heart and soul. Usually leads the league in blocked shots, also is leading the Oilers D corps in points this year too. Arizona wins this trade, but I needed to get rid of the salary. This assumes Russell is willing to waive his NMC.
