Why would the Leafs want to trade the very dependable Hainsey for nothing, just to obtain the very meh Cole for a 2nd rounder?. Why do the Ducks trade Manson for so little? Terrible deal for Leafs with Ottawa. Ryan is 7.25m cap dump who couldn't make the Leafs, and that is a severe overpayment for Karlsson by any team including the Leafs.

Sorry, I do. Don't know what year you think those trades are so good for the Leafs, or that Manson trade so fair to the Ducks. No team is offering that much for 1.5m years of Karlsson, especially if means to taking on the useless Ryan. There is a reason Karlsson hasn't been traded. Teams aren't acknowledging the absolute silly posts than are prevalent in CapFriendly.

Hainsey isn't young, is over paid and Cole is much better physically, defensively and offensively, Polák can't skate and is losing his ability to defend, Manson trade might need fixing but honestly he is ANA 4th best d man this season and will be their 5th best guy next year while paying him over 4mill, it isn't worth it, Carrick can play same role for cheaper/younger, since Manson is better maybe you'll be happy to remove the 3rd round pick then, and finally we get to my favourite claim of your, as much as I dislike Ottawa, Bobby Ryan can still play, maybe not 7.5m play but he's worth north of 5m and the fact the leafs are getting one of the best dman of the last 30 years makes it worth it.

Sorry that he haven't seen Hainsey is past two years. He played most minutes of any Pens dman in last years playoffs. He's been a rock for the Leafs this year. I assume he has one year good year left before his contract expires. Cole has no place on the Leaf team. Cap space is important, and Ryan isn't replacing Nylander and Marner as the top two RWers on the Leafs. His cap is a disastrous and the Leafs can't afford now in future years. And let's stop this nonsense talk about Karlsson being so great in the past 30 years. It's the now that is important. And this year and even now, he has been poor, and I guess a lot of it is due to ankle surgery. Fact is the Leafs aren't giving so much of their future for one full year of Karlsson. No team is, which is one reason, Karlsson hasn't been traded yet. I see you are new to this site. There so many posts were the Leafs seem to pay 50% more than any other team in trades. Leafs aren't that desperate to mortgage their future for minimal results, but neither are other teams.

I see that you spend too much time on this site, go watch a couple real games before lying to me about ice times and such. I see you must be one of those leafs fans who don't like to acknowledge the fact that Karlsson is part God. Ryan can play both wings and would be a great number 2 LW, I can see how the leafs have less cap space to use after that disastrous Marleau signing (almost the same cost as Bobby Ryan but OLDER and not half as good a player) and I guess the leafs didn't listen to you about not wasting their future after their bad trade today. Also did I mention Karlsson might honestly be part God?!!??!? Anyways thanks for your insight into this topic

I see you are new to this site and no nothing about the salary cap.....hence the name CapFriendly. You certainly know little about hockey if you think Ryan is any good. Ottawa just can't give that contract and his poor play away. Glad the only games you see are only the Pens games, cause if you had witnessing any Sens games this season you would know . how poorly Karlsson has been this year. And of course it non sensical that one player makes all that much difference to a team. Looks like the Kings are going to miss the playoffs for the second year in a row despite having their God Doughty playing RHD.
