I keep see Burakovsky trades on WSH rosters, why do caps fans want to get rid of him so bad?

That's a good question. I'm not really one to bandwagon and start hating a player just because everyone says he sucks. Personally, I think Burakovsky has not quite adjusted as he should have to the NHL and I think the caps could trade him while he still has value and potential in order to maximize his value. He has become somewhat of a frustrating player (not that he is being coached properly, but that's a whole other story). Burakovsky has this season struggled to find his game, when he was supposed to take a leap. He tends to miss the net frequently and skates himself into tough areas. While he does show flashes here and there, i don't think its frequent enough to overlook when he does make bad plays. I think he could become a good player in this league, but I am also worried that it won't happen. So in that sense, trading him now would elicit the greatest return. He's not a bad player rn, he's just not taking that next step as he should.

Full disclaimer: He has had a tough season with injuries and scratches, so that could definitely be affecting his game.

With the pieces I chose to include, what do you think would be fair value and would still dump Orpik? Bowey,Orpik,Sieg for Ceci? Or is that still too much?

Appreciate the detailed response. As a Pens fan I recall him being a solid player(from what I saw), and considering his age/contract it made me wonder. Conor Sheary is like that for us. He's shown some brilliant flashes, but is also inconsistent. Good luck this year.

Larkin is Detroit's #1C, and leader in assists, points, TOI for forwards, and plays in all situations. No way is he being traded for that offering.
