Description
I know I'll be eviscerated here for trading Kyrou, but let me explain: In this league you have to trade value to get value, and Pacioretty's contract is pure value. Kyrou projects to be a top-6 RW, and while that is an area of weakness for STL, we can compensate by signing Hornqvist in free agency. I'm probably overpaying him a bit, but he's a multiple Cup winner and goal scorer who plays a position we have virtually no NHL depth at. I've re-signed Stastny to be our 2nd line C while Thomas develops.

we dont want sobotka. instead we'll retian 50% on pacioretty. and mtl doesn't send a pick back, unless its a 3rd rd pick. fair deal though

Why would the blues do this on draft day and not this season at the deadline..

Remove Sobotka and your 2nd, and make it your 2018 1st, it should only be in the 25+ range realistically, not a lottery pick

No real reason they wouldn't -- this could just as easily be a deadline deal. But I wanted to be able to fill out the roster for next season
