Well a 2nd is the asking price Glendening @ $1.8 million for 3 more years is still affordable. He's solid at face offs he's a great PKer shuts down most teams best players on most nights. He's still worth far more then a 5th maybe a 3rd instead of a 2nd.

The value on Carrick and Glendening is probably pretty even, both are worth more than 5ths. Maybe that is the trade right there although you have to think Carrick has a much higher ceiling all things considered.

Agreed. Flyers who aren't in a position to win this year are not trading a 1st and a blue chip puck moving defensive prospect for a rental. That is a Holmgren trade. Hextall does not part with picks or prospects easily. And even if they sign JVR that closes the door on re-signing Simmonds and is pretty much a wash. It's the same reason the Evander Kane trade talk makes no sense for the Flyers.
