Fact there are lots of teams with players of long term LTIRs and they give Arizona a sweetener to take these contracts on, not the otherway around as you suggest. Fact is Arizona is above the cap and will be even more above the cap next year when some of their players come off ELC and get raises. The Arizona trade makes sense for Arizona, they don't know how to handle top rated talent, thus we give them multiple picks they can mess up and the high end talent heads to Detroit where they will prosper. Also, why would Arizona even care where they draft? Their Owner could care less about his team.
