wow, i like your thinking! I cant really see Buffalo taking Hagelin besides the fact that they can afford it, but for their return it could be a good idea. Maybe give them Sheary or Simon/ZAR instead? I have really liked Hagelin's play this year. This trade is fun though and can help out all around.

Agreed. The 62-71-72 was playing extremely well and no reason to believe they won't pick up where they left off once Hornqvist is back. I like Sheary, but I think $3 mil is a little too much for him and that way you're still moving some salary to BUF.

The Pens don't need wingers! Hagelin has played really well as if late and Ian Cole is playing like 2017 playoffs Cole. Horrific for Pens to do these deals

Agreed. Kane is a cancer and the Pens can use ZAR, Simon, and Sprong instead. Sheary instead of Hagelin would be more ideal. Why tf does Toronto even do this deal...wow

2nd and a 3rd for Cole and a 4th?
The leafs have no use for this trade, as it does nothing for them.
Leafs have too many LHD, already.

Ok as far as hagelin is concerned he has been aweful for his contract that's why, he didn't even have 30 pts last year and this year he might get 40. Kane is a deff upgrade.

Kane is not as bad as most of you think, also its been reported that Rutherford believes Kane's attitude issues stem from him being with losing teams, and he believes kane would not have that problem with his team.

Hagelin is doing glorious things for Malkin right now. Points aren't everything. The Pens know this. They just won back to back cups with guys who got few points. Hagelin is valuable to Pittsburgh. Kane would be a minor "upgrade" and wouldn't even be in the top 6. Not worth the price...

The leafs have enough depth and leadership sitting in the press box.

Ok now you've lost me who are you referring to? cuz the way I see it is they have no one as their 7th d other than pulling from the farm team if theres an injury in to top 4 you have to insert Polak into you top 4? That shouldn't be a comfortable situation for a team that can contend this year.

Well, in terms of depth for LD we have Reilly, Gardiner, Dermot, Hainsey (who is playing RD for Reilly), Marincin, Rosen, Borgman, and Valiyev. With the exception of Reilly and Gardiner, all of these guys are between 5-7th D-men.

The reference to the press box (Moore, Martin, etc) was more about the "Leadership" comment. Leaf fans have been sold on the "leadership" angle for a few players who have in the past couple of years either spent their time buried in the minors or sitting in the box, eating cap space. It's not that I'm knocking "Leadership", but how much more "leadership" does a team need?

ok but the point is you don't want any of these guys (Marincin, Rosen, Borgman, and Valiyev) as you next man up in the playoffs . I would be shocked if they didn't deal for another defensemen. the clearly don't like marincin since they buried him.

I agree with you. I just think the Leafs have a greater need for a RHD.
