Description

I'm a big fan of Brett Howden, and think he could be an even better center for Kane than Anisimov (Potentially an elite center in the league).

Forsling has two more years left on his entry level contact, which ends the same year as both Dan Girardi and Braydon Coburn. Meaning Tampa should have the cap space to extended him to be apart of their future defensive core. Forsling is a good prospect that also helps boost Tampa's defense for the current playoffs.

Tomas Jurco gives Tampa some additional winger scoring depth for the playoffs. Alternatively this could be some other low level roster player on the Blackhawks instead.

Jakub Galvas is a 18 year old 2017 5th round pick that is having a solid year in the Czech league, and looks decently promising. He is added to help equalize the trade for Howden.

I'm a big fan of Evan Bouchard for this upcoming draft. Making Bouchard, Jokiharju, and Krys our potentially future defensive core, making Forsling somewhat expendable.

If any Tampa Fans have any thoughts, or alternative trade ideas for Howden I am curious to see what you think.

You would be buying Forsling + Jurco for the current playoff push and beyond. Then get Galvas as an additional prospect. Do you think more needs to be added from the Blackhawks? With Brayden Point performing so well I would imagine Howden is expendable + you don't give any high future picks.

Just curious, if the hawks hypothetically didn't trade Niklas Hjalmarsson, and he was in the trade rather than Forsling, would that be more appealing?

Was just posting to gauge a response, I kind of figured the Blackhawks would need to offer more. What players do you think could be traded for Howden?

I’m not sure if there is anything. Not anything on defense really. Maybe a forward...

Yes, Hjalmarsson would be way more appealing to Tampa. Actually fits what they want. A defensively responsible defenseman who can play the right side.

Damn, that's unfortunate to read. I wish we could do that trade, I don't think Connor Murphy has that same value especially with his contract going for longer and Tampa's tight cap. Thanks for responding. I kind of thought the trade wasn't valued well, but just wanted to gauge a response.
