All these trade can be done from now going all the way to the draft or further into the offseason.
STL trade: As much as I would like Thomas, I doubt STL gives him up. It's the sad truth. Barbashev is a solid NHL ready prospect, who after seeing him play vs the Habs a few days ago, kind of reminds me of Lars Eller, not exactly the comparison you want to here when you trade Pacioretty, but that's why Kyrou is in this deal. At the World Juniors Kyrou played on the wing, but he's been playing Center in the OHL (Sarnia). So you can argue that there's two centers coming MTL's way.
NJD trade: TSN's Pierre LeBrun reported that NJD and MTL had a deal in place for Chucky at last years draft, but it fell through, and a few days later NJD acquired Johansson. Now with the Devils in a playoff position, and knowing they have serious interest in Galchenyuk, here's me taking a stab at what a deal could look like. McLeod would need to be included in this deal imo. Other than McLeod, the isn't any other "key" asset that would interest the Habs. So since I included McLeod, there's no 1st rd pick in the deal. I added Bastian (2nd rd pick) and a 3rd rd pick to even out the deal, but if the Devils win a round the pick becomes another 2nd.
COL trade: Oh the irony!!! let's add a bit of humor with these deals. Andrighetto has been a healthy scratch for the Avs, so there are signs that COL are regretting signing him to that extension. And with the Avs almost surely making the playoffs, a little Center depth wouldn't hurt. MTL takes back Andrighetto and his contract, get a cheap pick. Avs get a good rental and a little extra cap space next year.
BOS trade: TSN's Derren Dreger reported that BOS might be looking for another puck moving defensemen. Here ya go, a nice cheap one. For the small price of a 5th rd pick.
NSH trade: Preds looking to add more goal scoring, Byron would be 100% the cheapest possible option for any contender to get another 20 goal scorer. a 2nd in the 55 range + a young Center prospect (that can fit in a 4th line role for now) seems like a fair price to me.
SJS trade: Contract swap! I'm willing to bet SJ are looking to shed Boedker off their roster. I'll swap Shaw for him (cap hit is almost identical) on the condition that MTL gets a good prospect in return. Shaw imo is worth a lot more than Boedker, and Shaw fits in perfectly with the Sharks playstyle. I am being hopeful that they would be ok with giving up Roy to do this though.
CBJ trade: I did this trade with the assumption that CBJ move Johnson and are looking for a cheap depth defender to replace him. I think Benn would be a good option.
These deal would replenish the prospects cupboard and then some. Along with all the draft picks, Habs will finally be able to build a deep prospect pool.
the galchenyuk and byron trades are horrible. ur selling low
I agree with you. but in NJD - Galchenyuk trade, teams don't want to move their best center prospects, and McLeod (1st rd pick 12th overall) is the Devils best Center prospect. I would still consider it a low sell for the Habs, but it's highly likely that the Devils turn this down.
First nice intro to your team pretty much sums up where we are with those players, but the nashville trade I,d ask for Colton scissons instead of Gaudreau. Byron is a pretty good player with a friendly cap hit, he is also a speedster that go like a rocket on ice in PK ... so I would ask for a better option than a guy playing in the minor.

I was actually thinking about adding Sissons instead of Gaudreau! Thing is I'm pretty sure NSH aren't going to want to move out a roster player for their playoff push, they're looking to add depth, not swap. But if Sissons would be included, I would guess the draft pick wouldn't be as good as a 2nd, which was the key piece for MTL here, Gaudreau is just extra.
