If you are "undoing Tim Murray" you have to get rid of Eichel, Okposo, Reinhart, Rodrigues, Smith, Guhle.

You also made the team significantly worse.

So having actual NHL D is making the team worse? Please do tell.

you gave antipin over 2.5 million to be an extra dman?

petry is fine, but not at the cost of oreilly.

Being conservative with the payments here. We still fit under the cap with no issues. Considering D get injured often a 7D plays 40+ games (as he can play LD and RD). This D has playoff depth.

Also we get Galchenyuk, excellent goalscoring winger while giving a chance to Reinhart to play at 2C. This doesn't make our offense much worse than with ROR on it.

I'm a sabres fan and no question you solved nothing with these trades... giving up kane for aberg and a 1st is a loss, Lehner is better the Grub so why not just resign him and split time with ullmark who is also a swed, so they could train together in the off season and lehner could groom ullmark. Giving up O'reilly is like giving up a Bergeron or kesler, no not always exciting to watch but great two way forward centers are impossible to come by. jay beagle does nothing for this team and Perron is unrealistic because he will not be signing here... Antipin has been a healthy scratch half the season what has he done to earn a big boy contract? Why do this if your not going to keep in in the realm of reality.

Oreilly is definitely worth more than that package. Mans a stud. One of the most versatile / under rated players in the NHL. If buffalo trades him that’s a big mistake

Well in reality who would you have drafted instead of Eichel and Reinhart? Sure let's not have , Smith, Rodrigues and Guhle. Opps Smith and Guhle have a total of Zero NHL goals, Rodrigues has a total of 7 NHL goals in 54 games. IMO Okposo is a great signing but it was too soon as you will read. But let's see what we can add. McNaab, Myers, Pysyk, Zaderov, Ruhwedel, at least 3 more 1st round draft picks, at least 4 more 2nd round draft picks and if the Murray was not here we rebuild for one more year and add either Austin Mathews or Patrick Laine. If you can check the trade rumors of Darren Drager (I cannot find this old link but we know Murray was talking with Lombardi because Lombardi extorted McNaab and 2nds for bottom six forwards) and Pierre Lebrun (http://boston.cbslocal.com/2015/03/03/bruins-peter-chiarelli-made-two-different-offers-for-chris-stewart/) we would have added Pearson and Spooner as well. So yes, let's undo EVERY thing Murray did and make this team much better with a much better future than we have right now. With all of the defense-men I mentioned look at the cap space we would have and could then add, James Van Riemsdyk, Paul Stastny, Joshua Bailey, and John Carlson ( and Kane maybe) this year and maybe sign O'Reilly when he was a free agent for nothing.

DATM took over a last place team with a great future 8 picks in the 1st and 2nd round over the next two years and the top ranked prospect pool and turned it into a last place with no future half as many picks, and the 20th best prospect pool (https://thehockeywriters.com/nhl-best-farm-systems-2017-ranking/).

So yes let us undo the DATM night mare.

You may have chosen a poor method to show how much Murray messed up this team but there is no question he took a HUGE step backward. He traded poorly and drafted worse,
He drafted extremely poorly for example:
Nylander over Sergachev the very next pick.
He passed on Brayden Point 5 times drafting NHL studs as Brendan Lemieux, Eric Cornel, Vaclav Karabacek, Jonas Johansson, and Brycen Martin instead.
He traded away 3 great picks in 2015 (21, 25 and 31) which easily could have been 23-Brock Boeser, 28-Anthony Beauvillier, and 35-Sebastian Aho.

          He traded poorly:
He giving away essentially a 1st round pick (2-2nd and NcNaab) for 2 bottom 6 forwards, players one picks up for spare change in free agency (see Benoit Pouliot).
John Muckler nearly had a heart attack when DATM gave up a 1st for Lehner.
Yes ROR is a great pick up, but look what Adam Larsson brought back, Taylor Hall. and what did ROR cost the Sabres?
Yes Kane is a great, but will get any thing near what we gave up for him?
          He complained about everything:
None of the managers wanted to make a Hockey trade
The draft rules should be changed
I offered a bootload trying to get another 1st round pick (the NYI had no problem in 2014)
The cap is buggered and I do not know who we can sign next year.
OMW, he did nearly nothing right. I could go on and on but no one would read even this tome.

Read my post above to see from where these player come, this could have been the team with out Murray and not even speculating on the players he did not draft with the picks he traded away:

          Pearson, Eichel Patrick Laine
James Van Riemsdyk Reinhart, Joshua Bailey
          Spooner Paul Stastny, Justin Bailey
          Girgensons, Larsson, Nick Baptiste

          McNaab, Ristolainen
          Zaderov, Myers
          Pysyk John Carlson

So which team would you rather have the one above or the current team? I think the answer is very clear. A slow rebuild always is the best. BTW there is enough cap to Evander Kane for nothing if you wanted to.

I am bemused by the number of people who think Murray did a good job. he took a last place with a good future to last place team with no future.

Where did I ever say Murray did a good job? He did a terrible job but it is what it is now and making good choices with the assets we have is pivotal why are you targeting me as a Murray supporter for exposing this guys poor choices with the current roster moves. You definitely miss understood the point I was making lol.
