No matter how bad Kessel has performed (and he has not performed really that badly, all things considered), there is no chance the management trades him this year. He was a blockbuster trade, big news acquistion, and to claim failure and move on from him already would be unacceptable to management.
Also, Kessel is on pace for around 28 goals and 30 assists... Not earth shattering, but certainly not bad by any means... And that's while underperforming.
