Description
No big trades to salvage this season and weaken the pens long-term. JR should trade some expiring contracts bring in some youth and 3Rd line center. Hornqvist is going to be expensive and if Crosby doesn't like playing with him why resign him. Cole too expensive to resign.

They're not looking to acquire 2nd round picks at this point. Pittsburgh has a window to compete for Cups w/ Crosby and Malkin still in their prime. Hornqvist for Dal Colle is never gonna happen. The Pens are looking to upgrade their forward group, not diminish it by selling one of their most productive players. They should be looking at Evander Kane and/or Mark Stone as both are pending FA's.

Ottawa isn't trading stone and he's an rfa. It's Hoffman their shopping. I fully believe the pens making a run at Kane but not via trade it will be too much. As a ufa though. Buy out haggling and you have a ton of cap space. 2ND round picks can be used to trade for decent 3Rd line center
