Gotto think that MTL doesn't benefit enough from doing this and the answer is simple. What could MTL get for trading those 3 guys individually, with retention if needed? Now take all those assets we'd get, sum it up and then offer that to EDM for your package. Would it still be fair value? Quickly looking at it, I don't think so.

Nurse is a good dman, no confusing it but he's not a top pairing 40+ pt guy. He's a decent top 4. Yamamoto also is nice but he's really small and a winger and MTL at all costs needs to start putting their efforts at getting the #1 center.

And frankly its ok for EDM fans to think maybe that they are giving up too much.....that's their prerogative but whether its Edm or Nsh or Pit etc, someone is going to pay the price needed for Pacioretty. The best offer will depend on how patient MB is. Case and point. Joe Sakic trading Duchene.

Ultimately, Pacioretty by himself with 50% would be good in my books. (For Nurse, Yamamoto, 2nd)
Its adding Plekanec at 50% which will get us a minimum of a 2nd rounder+, Lindgren whose value is a little up in the air but could get us an equally good prospect back and a conditional 3rd which changes to a 1st if he doesn't sign, that threw the value all over the place for me personally.
