TRADE 1: As soon as possible
Benefit for PHI, they save $1mil remainder this yr and $4.4 mil on next year. They need to chip away that cap to improve. Moving Schenn allows a spot for Gostisbehere.
Benefit for CGY, they have a signed #1 G for next year at a great deal, a likely high 2nd and have someone for when the move Russell at the deadline.
TRADE 2: At TDL
Benefit for PIT, They get a defender that will play hard every night and is not afraid to go down and black a shot.
Benefit for CGY, They get something for Russell instead of getting nothing, much like the Glencross deal.
Neuvirth has been quietly having a near-vezina year, and he's just coming into his prime. I think you're really underestimating his value. Also I really doubt Philly is giving up a high pick for no prospects in return. Philly knows they're a few years removed from contention, so their mind in on long-term. In three years, this trade is just a 6th for a 2nd. No way the trade as is gets done.
