Colorado is dying for defencemen, not sure why they would entertain the Barrie deal...that does nothing for them. I think you are low balling Nylander and Marner....plus I think Matthews signs for closer to McDavid money than Kopitar money....that being said, I think Doughty is a real possibility....he is exactly what they need

He's a UFA at 5.5M so I was thinking this as more a deadline deal. Could increase to a 2nd round pick. But they are going to be rebuilding so I think of it as a cap dump so they can take some bad contract for picks. You may be right about low balling. But based on the past few weeks maybe not.

Cammarelli,, McClement, Raymond, still in the NHL in 2019/20? Yea, you can "squeeze" in as many high priced UFAs players as you want, but if start to squeeze other players....liike Matthews and others, it doesn't work.

as the cap goes up so will salaries. just because mcdavid got 12.5 per year, doesnt mean matthews wont get more. that also means marner, nylander, even doughty get more.

trying to compare to salaries already done, and then having the cap go up 11 million doesnt matter.

i think matthews gets 13 millionish, nylander 7.5, marner 7 doughty 11-12

Minimal Matthews gets $12 million both Marner and Nylander $6.5 million slightly less then the Pastrnak deal Doughty probably $11 million or more You're nowhere to being close on this deals.

Barrie is an elite offensive defenceman, make no mistake. If he was playing on a contender he's putting up 60pts...if Sakic held out for 6 assets for Duchene, I don't think he will give Barrie away for Bracco and a 3rd (3 years from now)....
