Ok let me explain my thoughts on this roster.

Penguins have the ability to trade Letang. I trusted our D last year without him and I think the team can do better without him. I chose Edmonton as my trade partner here because they need a D and we need a Center.

The Hagelin trade I just did with Vegas cause I know they have D. My thought is we package Hagelin and high draft pick for a D. We can't trade Hagelin straight up cause of his cap hit but adding a pick I think subsides that hit for a team.

Schmidt himself is worth at least a 2nd rounder so you can’t just throw in a cap dump like Hagelin.
