Description
After deciding to be sellers and re-stocking the left side D with a few strategic moves near the trade deadline, the Habs finish around 22nd overall, and pick late in the top 10. The Carolina pick is closer to #20 overall as the Hurricanes make the playoffs. Two draft selections are Ryan Suzuki (#10) and Arthur Kaliyev (#20)

The Finnish super line will be fun to watch for years to come, and hopefully Valimaki eventually becomes a top 4 D-man on the left side.

  1. Kapanen, Kasperi
Détails additionnels:
No doubt Kapanen is a valuable piece, but will want a big raise next summer. How much do you want to pay your 3rd best RW.
TOR
  1. Petry, Jeff (750 000 $ retained)
Détails additionnels:
#15 ranked right D in NHL (Corsica) to help Leafs right side at reasonable cost. Better balance on D could mean a longer playoff run vs. Boston/Tampa etc.
2.
MTL
  1. Stone, Michael
  2. Välimäki, Juuso
Détails additionnels:
Flames with great depth on defense can afford to give up a few current pieces.
CGY
  1. Byron, Paul
  2. Fleury, Cale
  3. Schlemko, David
  4. Choix de 2e ronde en 2019 (CBJ)
Détails additionnels:
Flames get a solid current 3rd pairing d-man, depth scoring/speed for their playoff run, and a good prospect on right D
3.
MTL
  1. De Haan, Calvin
  2. Choix de 1e ronde en 2019 (CAR)
Détails additionnels:
Habs get a solid Left D-man (#30 LD on corsica) plus a good draft pick for next year. Carolina has enough defensive depth to fill the hole on left side
CAR
  1. Danault, Phillip
  2. Tatar, Tomas (500 000 $ retained)
  3. Choix de 3e ronde en 2019 (MTL)
Détails additionnels:
Hurricanes get upgrades down the middle at 2-3C and scoring on the wing. A #30 offense is their key problem

they are all good base's for trade's i'll give you that .

i just dont see 1 for 1 on Petry and KK . can the trade happen , for sure but you'd need to put a youth prospect in the mix or an established third line winger to replace KK icetime and a good pick .(then it would work out for all involved today , tomorrow and a couple years from now .

to me i'd scrap the De Haan trade we went after him and backed off because he's paid more then he's worth and is in a similar position to Kris Russel 3-4 years back as an over payed 2nd pair shot blocker .

i like the CGY trade but moving Byron makes no sense nor does Tatar as their value is still increasing and its better to wait and sell high to contenders at the TDL . Danult would work out in CGY i think as good as he is at Center he's a different beast on Wing where he developed a similar style to Byron in his Junior days and was always breaking out on other teams but playing center ice is a lot more responsibility and work but take that away and he'll be awesome for teams looking to add speed and increase the amount of time they are in the OZ .

Shaw's on a Career high Point Streak scoring a point every game since being moved to Drouin-Domi's line so why screw with that he's helping Domi so i wouldnt touch that if you payed me to .

Gallagher and Tatar go UFA the same year so let their chemistry bid and Tatar's worth go up then sell high to a cup team .(you'll get way more and if we choose to move Gallagher his worth will be raised)

i like pretty much everything you're building towards though even who you Drafted i'm just Sure Suzuki brothers would both be starters next season if we got them especially nick .

i'll give you 5/5 because its pretty realistic whether if its what i'd do our not . i'm not gonna get to hung up on the 1 for 1 trade its becoming more common these days so never say never i've learned

if Brook wasnt looking for a roster spot as soon as next year i'd agree but Petry's gotta go for Fleury who our AHL top RD in his rookie season there and Brook who's on team Canada and WHL best D need room to grow and at this point its gonna be at Juulsen's expense if Petry stays

That's totally fair and true, I just think they could get more for Jeff Elitry

that's my reservation to but i thought the same about Subban to even though i love Weber i thought 1 for 1 was steep even though NSH has the re-capture clause on Weber that could screw them the last 4 years of his deal if he retires or leaves the NHL via Buyout .(which he wont )

i'd rather Trade Petry to a team like PHI for a few good pieces and trade TML a young player like Evans and a 1st we get back from the Petry deal .TML avoids a high payout to KK and buys TML a couple more year of low cap .
