Description
When push comes to shove, Mgmt sacrifice the core, they get the trades they need and reasonable UFA signings. Highly unlikely scenario but its the ideal perfect storm offseason if they decide to really change it up. More for fun just wanted to see what a complete overhaul would look like

Cant delete the Logan Brown create a player, so omit that

Trade 1 - Depth trade just to try to open up some roster spots. Avs trading for Gelinas and the signing of Compher are signs of the end for Mitchell and Holden.

Trade 2 - Iggy goes cup chasing, still a valuable depth guy on a cup team, however not a lot of teams would be able to take on his current cap, so Avs would have to retain something.

Trade 3 - The rumours of Barrie are actually true and Avs get max value for him in the 4th overall. Oilers desperate for RHD help and are open to moving the pick for that. Overpay scenario here.

Trade 4 - Avs need to replace a Top 4 RHD with Barrie and his contract demands out the door. They move Duchene in an attempt to shore up that position on a good contract in Faulk.

UFA signings

Goligoski & Okposo - Both played with Johnson at U of Minn, so they are slightly familiar with playing with one another. Pull a reunion move to all play together once again

Avs with the 4th overall draft the Winger help they need in Tkachuk, and at 10 they are able to add Dman Chychrun who seems to be sliding in the draft rankings now.

Note: Trade values are some of proposed trades I have noticed from other teams either on this site or other hockey sites. Trying not to be homerish with values as they are proposed by other teams

I think your trades here are fair (though I don't think the Avs would be wise to move both Barrie and Duchene. I see an either or here). But I think your contract valuations on Goligoski and Okposo are definitely low. I also don't see Iginla waiving his NMC to chase a cup until the deadline at least

Yeah I think they might be a little low but that was if Avs get reasonable value in their signings, however they could be 1m more in biddings wars. Still cap space left so it could still work if they had to over spend.

I edited my description. Reason why I think the Avs add those guys is the Reunion with EJ plan for that group of 2006-07 U of Minnesota gopher guys. Those sort of buddy signing situations always seem to pop up now

Keith Tkachuk's kid on the Avs? Gross, lol. Besides that pretty solid.

Avs probably will lose a player to Las Vegas with this roster. Whatever.

Yeah I went back and forth about Tkachuk or Dubois at 4th overall, but the Winger issue is more glaring than the C issue in my mind. Didn't want to over think the protection of expansion guys scenario,

I got Dubois 10 times out of 10. Really love his game and versatility.
