Looks like a push to make the Jets better immediately, I like it for Jets fans. Think he may have overpaid to acquire Hamonic and Duchene, but if it means getting the playoffs...go for it.

Yeah, that's what WPG would have to do to make this deal within the division. I like these moves for WPG. Would be amazing to see them grow the balls to pull this off.

I agree on both counts. Expensive but exciting. In the end, that is three firsts and a second for Duchene and a first and a second (31st overall) for a disgruntled Hamonic.

Having Ehlers and Connor patrolling the LW, Scheifele and Duchene up the middle and Wheeler and Little on the RW for years to come would be a really solid core. I think Petan is due for a breakout campaign which will make the bottom six more dangerous. The fourth line will also push for minutes. Solid D, better goaltending (addition through subtraction). Certainly would push hard for the playoffs.

As a Jets fan, the whole bright future can start wearing thin. I think the Jets have done an incredible job at stocking the prospect cupboard. At some point, I would think they would need to bite the bullet and convert potential to roster. Even after these trades the Jets would have plenty of prospects to groom.
