What has Scherbak done to deserve a 2nd line spot? He can't even make the lineup in Montreal but you put him on the second line? He is incapable of playing hockey at the NHL level/style. Even for free he is a pass.

He can't play on the fourth line, our AHL coach doesn't trust him and he gets injured 3 times a year. (I also cheer for the habs)

Scherbak offensively is an NHL top 6 guy, 100%. Defensively he's an ECHL fringe player. that's pretty much the gist of things. If a team is willing to make up for his defensive mistakes and try and develop that part of his game, he''ll be good. Julien as a defensive minded coach literally had no interest in putting him in the lineup, since the only guys he's been rotating so far this year has been on the fourth line. The top 9 is pretty much already set and competitive with 10 guys. Drouin-Domi-Shaw, Tatar-Danault-Gallagher, Lehkonen-Kotkaniemi-Byron, and Armia who's still hurt.

If Scherbak passes through waivers, Habs will be lucky.
