Description

As a guy who watches nearly every single Hawks game, it has been so hard watching Nick Schmaltz. Such a frustrating player. So much potential but just seems to he holding it in unwilling to show it.

Strome and Perlini seem to be similar players. I think I like this trade. Strome is after all a former top 3 pick. That being said, this trade is all about which players can turn the corner playing in a new system (hopefully Strome and Perlini)

I think it's also worth putting both guys into the top 6 right away and give them more minutes next to skilled players. This has the potential to be a somewhat balanced top 9.

I don't like it. Schmaltz turned the corner last year in mid December and went on a streak and a top 2 forward the remainder of the season. Would he have turned the corner? If so, this was a bad move as he, unlike Strome and Perlini, has proven he can be a point a game guy. I think the risk is too big right now and know Schmaltz would have been worth more at the TDL. Hartman got a 1st, Schmaltz who's a much player would have gotten a 1st and then some.

The defense isn't that bad, the hawks lack of forward depth hinders their ability to defend.
