Description
No D trades, let alone a RHD, are worth it at this point.
You need to over pay for any D in the Top 1-3 range, and extra for RHD.
Plus, TML would need to CAP dump in order to make it work.
You'd be looking at another Hall for Larsson trade.

Besides, TML has some decent D prospects that if properly developed (which Toronto seems to be doing as of late), might turn out to be viable options in a year or two.

Probably a good call. You're right about a Hall for Larsson trade being essentially the ask at this point, and we all know how that turned out. Do you really want to give up Nylander for a guy like Faulk? No.

My thoughts are similar-run with who you've got and wait it out for a bit. See how Liljegren looks in the AHL for the first half of the year, then, depending on his play, ease him into the lineup in similar fashion as Dermott was last year. If he's not ready to come up, you can always find someone at the deadline for a couple of months.

This is A horrible call... there are three options gardiner is a package trade for something useful (I don’t like this idea), is somehow resigned or walks as a free agent after this season.

Just wanted to rate this. You are absolutely right about Toronto’s situation. Would have been 5 stars if you didn’t trade gardiner. At least wait till the trade deadline.

Thanks, I think people are freaking out about the D, but they don't really understand the cost. Also, Gardiner was a trade at the draft... after the playoff run.
