Dash of Bracco, Carrick, Brown a pinch of Gardiner and a sprinkling of a 2nd round pick...bake...and you've got a top pairing RHD.

There's no way you get that without giving up an A prospect (think Liljegren) and a 1st. Don't forget that TOR 1st is likely 25th or later so the value is more like a 2nd anyways.

You could certainly say Gardiner and is one year deal is equal to Trouba's one year. Think the Leafs (or any team) would be paying for a total of two year rental of Trouba till he's a UFA.
Is two years of Trouba worth a top prospect? Good question, guess we will know if there is ever a Trouba trade.
