Goalies have very limited trade value. Not worth it when the star goalies dont make much of a difference over a league average goalie (were talking 10-15 goals per 1000 shots from league avg to the top 3)

Samsonov will certainly be a really good NHL goalie some year soon, but I completely agree that the Caps can be contenders again this year with Holtby, or can be a wildcard team with a patchwork of three rookies and a UFA like Lehner or Pavelec. If they're 90% sure they get that wildcard, and if the return is like,

then maybe? But I'd ask Reimer or Hutchinson, before Weegar, and capwise Florida is happier to part with Reimer, once they've got Luongo and Holtby adding up to 10.5M in net (and possibly more, in the third year, on Holtby's next contract).
