Breaking up Gaudreau -- CGY's best playmaking x-factor speed demon -- and Monahan -- the guy with as many as or more goals over the past three years than Hall, Kessel, Pacioretty, Neal, Hoffman, E. Kane, Mackinnon, Wheeler (just to name a few) -- is not one of the "realistic" thoughts that Peters is entertaining, methinks.
Gaudreau / Monahan
Tkachuk / Backlund
Those pairings are likely to stick. Literally every single other possible iteration of line combination is up for grabs. Ryan, Lindholm, or Jankowski at 3C? Neal or Lindholm at 1RW? Bennett where? Czarnik where? Frolik where?
I like how the bottom 3 lines would look with Gaudreau moved down, but you've got Monahan and Neal working with Tkachuk instead of the team's best playmaker. Maximize your best goal scoring players however possible.
Gaudreau / Jankowski / Neal would be fun to see though...
