Strictly because of how weak the FA market is this season, Bozak and CDH are probably making at least $1M more than what you've offered. Not necessarily a problem considering how this setup for the Flyers has literally a Brink's Truck of cap space.

Do you reckon there's a market for Philly to acquire a bonafide goaltender for this season and next? Hart/Lyon most likely aren't NHL-starter calibre for a few years still and that's effectively the only piece this team is lacking moving forward. Like if Columbus stinks beyond belief this year, is acquiring Bobrovsky for prospects on the Flyers' radar?

I figured coming off shoulder surgery and only playing in 33 games last year de Haan may get a slight raise but I can't imagine Bozak making more than his previous contract when he was in the prime of his career. Goalie is the big "what if" scenario. If the team checks in on Neuvirth this summer and they go back to Hextall and say look this guy is still going to be injured more often than not next year we need to get another goalie I think they first consider Lyon. With Elliott coming off a year where he had significant core surgery I wouldn't be surprised if they look to bring in someone like Hutton or Lehner. They won't bring in anyone long term that would impeded Hart's ability to move up the depth chart.

I've read or heard in interviews that Rob Hextall will give a young player a chance if they think they are ready, but won't rush a player in.
Who knows if any of the young guys will ever actually be ready to be an upgrade over what is there.
Wouldn't finding an upgrade over the current players who didn't perform to expectations be the goal?
If they bring in players that are better than last year, and the young players are ready, it presents a great problem in giving the ability pair some assets to upgrade a player/pick and get the young guy in.
Worrying about whether someone is going to impede another's ability to move up the depth chart shouldn't be an issue at all.

I can definitely see this happening. Hopefully, they decide to bury Lethera's contract and put someone who can hockey at 4LW. But probably not, because "he's a glue guy"....
