Carolina does not need murphy; they have a ton of young Defensive guys with higher upside potential at cheaper prices...replace murphy with Rutta or Forsling and include Anisimov. That said, there is a ton wrong with your armchair team.
1st; you did not LITR Hossa correctly...his entire salary minus maybe $150K will come off the cap hit so that gives back up to $2M more in cap space. Hossa's career is confirmed done so either he is full LITR by the Hawks or traded to a team that needs to hit the cap floor and the Hawks eat $1M a year on the remainder of his contract.
2nd, Hayden has no business playing 2nd line wing, he is an if whether he is good enough to play a full season on the 4th line. Debrincat should be winger on the 1st or 2nd line with LW or RW not matter what team you come up with.
3rd; Quinn Hughes will not come into the league and play 1st year and it is highly unlikely he lasts till #8 where the Hawks are picking.
4th; Schmaltz is terrible as a 2nd line Center in F0% and would be better on the wing or move to the 3rd line C duties where possession isn't as important as the 2nd line.
5th; Forsling won't play over both Gus and Rutta as they were just signed for bigger money...they are all too close in ability and the Hawks will play the guys they invested more in or trade them.
Lastly; arguably the best depth player in the front for cheap and a good reserve is Martinsen....not signing him for $800K is criminal as he is the perfect 4th liner to use when the Hawks are going to be playing a more physical team.
