Description
This is what the nyr off season will look about. The reason they targeted buffalos first is for zadina as he and chytil played in the wjc together and were amazing and of the players rangers acquired during the trade deadline namestikov was the most expendable. Zuccarelo is a great player but he is in his prime now and nyr are still going to be rebuilding for next couple years so at best they will be a weak team maybe sneak in at best so it would be best to trade zuccarelo while he still has quite some value and get some promising kids in return. Beleskey is on the 4th line as he was a top 9 maybe a few years ago but hasn't played up to standards for a 3.8m player but with his contract only being 1.9m it might be worth keeping him up. I don't see nyr getting Carlson for sure I see they have a slight chance at Tavares but not enough for a simulation while kovi has said he wanted to play for nyr it would make some sense if he decided to join. Hamuis would sign for nyr as a top 4 role 1 year maybe 2 if he plays well but doubtful with nyr d core crop coming in.

Détails additionnels:
2018 NYR 3rd round

The reason this deal makes sense is that Anderson is nhl ready and klington needs a few years while this doesn't take away from Calgary's roster with their deep defence prospect pool they are acquiring a top 6 winger which they have needed for the past few seasons and nyr get a few more prospects and 1 that is ready to enter the lineup.

Definetly cant say I like this. The Rangers are a team entering a rebuild. Their best days are behind them, and theres no point in picking up old guys who might help them get to the 2nd round for a year or two in return for their entire future. To move up in the draft to pick someone like, Svechy or Zadina isnt worth it. I'd say keep your picks and that great prospect and stick with the future. Don't want valuable cap on old guys that will hinder your rebuild; and that Hamhuis contract is atrocious. Not to mention the Rangers rumors were just that, rumors. Confirmed by Kovi too smile

I never said this will happen but this is around what in my ideal off season for nyr is as it address all their issues and helps them get some valuable pieces for what they have. Nyr is rebuilding that is why zucc is moved but everyone else is relatively young but staal and kind but nyr has stated they offered king a way out onto a contender but he denied it so the only old guys are kovi and hamius both mentors for such a young team. Zadina has insane potential and with chyti's bright future this is a great acquisition and they still have fellow country man hajek that will be in the nhl if not by 2018-2019 then 2019-2020. Hamuis played decently for dallas and to sign him for a 1 year deal you will need to pay a heftier sum for older players as they know they are at the end of their careers.

I like the idea of trading down, but TBH that is not enough to convince Botterill to make the move. Presuming Namestnikov, V is worth a mid 1st (22nd for example) NYR would have to add their 2nd round pick to make it a fair trade for the 3rd over all. I do not happen to agree with this but I have seen Namestnikov being traded for a 2nd and a 3rd by Ranger fans on this site. So some Ranger fans do not agree that he is worth even a mid 1st.

Holland and Beleskey will not be regulars next year, and no way do they sign a washed up Hamhuis, though i can see them adding a vet dman for a few years to stabilize things. I do agree with Smith and Zucc being dealt for more cap room, and i can see Staal being bought out. I like Svechnikov a ton but wouldn't trade other firsts to move up that far in a deep draft.

it was supposed to be nieves instead of Holland and I wanted to maybe put brett howden as a backup if injuries arise. Staals buyout will be worsened if we wait a year so that its impact will be quite minor compared to if he is bought out this upcoming year. Or this was the scenario entering this year I cannot remember on the top of my head.
