Phillips is not ever going to be in the NHL, I have watched him a lot, and he is talented but the flames will not give him a shot. Edmonton needs more prospects, he will help them. Defence is better, the ugly Giordano contract is gone, and the awful Hamonic contract is also gone. Brodin and Carlson would bring defensive scoring the flames did not have before. Brouwer's contract is unloaded to Columbus, who sends a young much cheaper Anderson to Calgary. Bennett is a bust, so why not get something for him while he has a little bit of value left, Kempe is young, fast, and talented. Hellebuyck is way more consistent then Smith, and younger too. Karlsson signing will bring more spread out scoring, as well as Hoffman.
