Just a thought. The Ducks not bringing back a few vet dman next year would free up enough space to keep Tanev and then Vanek can be a rental this year and maybe a cheap resign if he wants to stay next year.

Note: Might a bit of a slight overpayment but the prices are unusually high this year so this what I view being the "asking price".

If it were just for the next couple of months, I'd go for it, but Bieksa's $4 mil is already replaced by Manson's raise, and I'd assume that Montour gets a reasonable raise as well.

$4.45/yr is a lot to pay what would end up amounting to a really, really good bottom pair dman.
