Description

Boston brings in a top-6 winger in Bailey. He's listed here as a LW, but on Hockey Reference, and Hockey DB he's listed at RW, so he slots right next to Krecji (possibly Bergy if Bruce wants Pasta on Krecji's wing).

Trade for OEL with the contigency that he would sign an extension upon coming to Boston.

At this point, I'm torn between actually going out and signing a top-6 forward, or putting Bjork back up there after finishing this season either in Providence or the big league roster. If he finds his confidence prior to the offseason, there's a chance he becomes the top-6 forward instead of signing Bailey.

That Bailey contract gives me chest pain. He's not going to be worth close to 6M, never-mind 6.75. The guy hasn't done anything close to what he's doing this season. Even normal production from Bailey isn't worth that contract. Someone is going to overpay and I don't think it's Boston. I'm not a fan of moving Spooner in a deal to get Beleskey's contract out of here.

I offered a similar OEL deal, but I've soured on him as an acquisition. I'd much prefer McDonagh or someone different.

I don't mind your re-signings.

I'll be 100% honest. I took a quick look at his stats, saw close to 60 points last year, and an increase this year and jumped on a top-6 contract for him. Now that I see his stats going back a few years, I mightily overpaid.

Not so much that you overpaid as that's probably the contract he'll be asking for but that it's an over payment for the Bruins with the position they're in with RFA's such as McAvoy, Heinen, Carlo, Debrusk etc. in the next few years and already a several 6 mil + contracts on their roster
