So you retain 1.5 million in the Phaneuf deal, and you end up saving .625 in cap space. I don't think that is worth it.

It is when Gaborik is off the books 2/3 yrs before Phaneuf would be

I agree would be tough to make the Ho-Sang deal work, but would be nice if it could happen. I don't think it will, but would like it. However, if you think we are getting rid of Karlsson or Duchene at this deadline, you're beyond wrong. Karlsson is a perennial Norris Candidate and we just gave up a ton for Duchene. We're not getting rid of either of them anytime soon. I think it would be a huge mistake to trade Karlsson, however, if they want to trade him, the best time to do so would be at this year's draft. That's when they would get the most for him.
