If the Oilers were closer to a playoff spot maybe? To me is just seems like giving up a lot for some rental players who may not come back when the team doesn't really have a shot at making the playoffs this year.

i Mean they could Have a Shot if Talbot plays Better this post is a What if type of thing.

Pat Maroon has no value for MTL, he's going to be UFA.... You should try to trade him to another team

MTL probably wont make that trade or would have a tough time making it. I like Benson but he has sever injury concerns and Maroon is purely a rental. The 1st is probably correct on value especially if Montreal is sending all those picks.
If i was the MTL GM, I accept the trade then trade Maroon as soon as I acquire him to another team for picks. So I would turn Patch into Benson(good prospect, injury concerns), a 1st, and probably a 2nd or a 1st from Maroon(depending on his value at the time. Remember, Rentals go for crazy value sometimes).

I can't see anyone taking on the Lucic contract, but hey if you can manage it, giddyap!
