My reasoning for the top 9. Not sure if anyone here has had an issue with it, but I've seen some Bruins fans on the web aren't huge fans of keeping our 3 best forwards on 1 line together. However, I like how they work and it's easily one of the best lines in the league. The 2nd line is a combination that really played awesome when they were together. Cehlarik and DeBrusk are not afraid of going into the corners, which is something Krejci likes. They work a good cycle game and all 3 display high end playmaking skill. The 3rd line is a mix of pure upside at both ends of the ice. All three players are good defensively, and I feel these three together would cause havoc with matchups. Backes slides back to the center, and is the veteran who goes into the corners and bangs. He's also a good net front presence. Heinen and Bjork display sound skill, vision and playmaking ability. Also, they are not afraid of the corners, depsite not being the heaviest players. Worst case, all 3 options (Heinen, Cehlarik, and Bjork) have shown the can play both wings effectively, and can move around if something isn't working. I keep Spooner in the lineup for PP ability, and also as a guy who can slide up if needed.

Defensively, it's pretty self explanatory as these are the pairings they've been running for much of the season (besides Grzelcyk who has been up for 7 games, and looked good in there). McQuaid as the 7th who can slide in for Griz if you need a more defensive/physical presence.

This is a pretty good mock. Spooner on a line with Nash and Accari is crazy. Theres no methodology to suggest thats a good idea for a line or that it wouldn't be a train wreck. Krug on the top pair is a horrendous idea. Having him matchup against the other teams best players would be a total nightmare. He messes up enough vs average players already and probably is responsible for more goals going in our net than he is for goals going in the oppositions net. He's rather brutal a lot of the time and I'm not just talking about his + / -, I'm talking about when he himself makes the turnover or bad play that leads directly to the other team scoring. It happens far too often for him to be in consideration for the top pair.

Krug on the top pairing was nothing more than an error on me not switching him with Chara. That's why I always do a mini write-up after I post. As I said, "Defensively, it's pretty self explanatory as these are the pairings they've been running for much of the season (besides Grzelcyk who has been up for 7 games, and looked good in there). McQuaid as the 7th who can slide in for Griz if you need a more defensive/physical presence." Which above is, for the most part, what they've been running. So with that, I'm not going to really comment more since it was accidental.

On Spooner with Nash and Acciari, it's not really that crazy. As I said in my write-up, he is on the team for PP abilities and ability to move up the line up if needed. Not really sure how it'd be a trainwreck though? Would be produce a lot of points there? Probably not, but Nash/Acciari are pretty good in their own end. This line getting 8-10 minutes a night of ES, and Spooner getting whatever PP minutes they get a game, I don't see it being a disaster. Is it really worse than Schaller/Beleskey/Vatrano/Kuraly with those two? I don't see it.... Bruins fans need to get out of this mindset that the team NEEDS three grinders on the 4th line.
