What I think Steve Staios might do

This is not necessarily what I want to happen but what I think will happen. My next post after this is what I want to happen, and might be my last armchair Gm.

I think the top 6 will largely stay the same, other then Pinto becoming the 2c. Staios will likely be focusing on the bottom 6 which gets a pretty big revamp. Bringing in 3 physical players in which all have been linked to Ottawa, Joshua, B. Tanev and Clutterbuck. Two of the 3 are considered Vets (B. Tanev & Clutterbuck). Staios openly wants to add experience to this team to lessen the load off of Giroux, I’m guessing he aims for these 2 vets to bring into the forward group.

For the D core, Staios wants to make it bigger and meaner, we need a Big RHD and C. Tanev fits that mold, likely going to overpay him slightly and as well bringing in his brother will help convince him of the move. His also a Vet which helps the blue line even more. Bringing in De Haan an Ottawa native would seem like a move Staios would do, he’s a veteran and will add experience to that locker room. He also adds a buffer for Kleven if needed, also can play the right side. Plays a good smart defensive game.

For Goaltending I think Staios will end up with Ullmark, I know he is pushing hard for Markstrom but Calgary wants a high pick and I don’t think Ottawa will be willing to give up the #7 for a older goalie who’s making $6m, so I think he could get Ullmark for a late 1st and Chychrun.
