Nylander - Ehlers

Drafted back to back and have put up similar points. If Winnipeg fans want to argue that Ehlers is just as good as Nylander (and I believe this to be true) why wouldn't they be paid the same?

Marner - Gaudreau/Saad/Huberdeau

Marner has been electric, although has not done well defensively and playing with 2 very good veterans in a very sheleted role. He seems to be not quite as good as Gaudreau, but a bit better than Saad and Huberdeau (according to traditional box-score stats, Saad is actually the Goat).

Matthew - Eichel/McDavid

Leafs go with a shorter time span and buy back less UFA years to keep his cap hit down. With this contract he lines himself up perfectly to swing for the fences next contract (think 14/15 Million).

Tavares - Stamkos

Max years x 9.5 million. Leafs show up, probably with 1 million less dollars then other offers but they also show up with Canadian Tire and their 10 million dollars for sponsorship and the opportunity to win multiple cups in his hometown. This is a stretch but I don't think by that much.

I also thought about signing Karlsson instead of Gardiner but I thought this post would get enough hate from Islander's fans and I don't need Sens fans burning my house down.
