NSH doesn't want Ceci back. NSH already has too many defenseman in system and they don't need to be taking back another, especially one with a high cap hit than Carrier as NSH has Duchene's buyout cost against the cap increase next year. Unless there is someone else NSH can trade Ceci too, then it doesn't work for NSH.

NSH would probably retain more on Carrier and then just ask for a 2nd and a 4th and that would be enough

Happy doing hypothetical business with you! For NSH, the only RD they would be looking for is a top pair guy as NSH has plenty of top 4 and 3rd pair defensemen in the system. They are just missing someone to staple next to Josi permanently.
