Description

Here's 3 thoughts that would make this team more competitive for the month ahead of the trade deadline.

1) Bring up Lysell. We're all clamoring for it on here, I'm sure the front office and coaching staff are planning on it, and now that Poitras isn't quite healthy, it should happen. Always beneficial to improve from within.

2) Sign Phil Kessel. The guy can still play, and as long as he hasn't fallen out of shape (which may be the reason he isn't signed) then he can be an immediate contributor. He could hit 10-15 goals over the rest of the season if he melds well with the lineup and is a cheap option for veteran leadership.

3) Sign Bonino. Looks like hes terminating with the Rangers. Center depth and veteran presence in the bottom 6 is worth investing in down the stretch, and while we have some options for this in house like Brown, Bonino is a cup winning guy.

Agreed with one but not interested by the free agents. Kessel is barely a 3rd liner and you've got van Riemsdyk and DeBrusk on the 4th when they're both better players and should both be in the top9. I do expect a push to get Bonino.
