No… what this team needs is a proper 2C and neither of those players fills that need.
Honestly, neither player brings any real upgrade to the Jets

Yeah, I did look at adding a strong centre to the team to fill that #2 spot. Keeping in mind Winnipeg's fairly low tolerance for doing big moves at the TDL. And I strongly disagree with you on these other two players. Tanev dramatically improves the D-core offering and the compete level, and Pat Maroon bring toughness and knowledge on how to win a Cup.

Jets D is playing great right now, so unless we are upgrading on what we have…adding a top pairing RHD…there’s zero reason to mess with it.
Adding yet another bottom line LHW to an already jammed lineup makes zero sense.

Winnipeg's defense is amongst the best in the NHL right now and Tanev isn't better that anyone the Jets currently have.

Maroon simply isn't needed.

It's a waste of assets to try and fill holes that don't exist.

The Jets D is playing well right now, but Neil Pionk and Dylan Demelo are middle pairs, not first line. Then if one gets hurt (which happens in the playoffs), who steps up? Schmidt? He's not who I would like to rely on to win a Cup. Adding a very tough bottom line winger would help greatly. Winnipeg's forward core is soft, really soft. The PIM leader amongst Jets forwards is Mark Scheifele. If that's who is going to fight those battles upfront, once again there is a problem.
