Team B could retool with the slumping player and some more picks.

Team B doesn't want to trade a star player in their conference.
Team A is in the other conference from Team B

The trade makes sense if Pit wants to trade Guentzel and Van wants Guentzel. They naturally pair up in several ways.

I don’t see Guentzel leaving Pittsburgh, and he said he loves playing in Pittsburgh and he loves playing with Crosby and Malkin.
