Dallas cannot afford to not fix the right side of their blue line. Love Pavelski, but if it comes down to him or getting a true top-4, right shot defenseman then you absolutely go after the RHD. That should be priority #1 this offseason for Dallas.
If they roll into 2024-2025 with Lundkvist as the only right shot defenseman on the roster AND playing top-4 minutes then they are going absolutely nowhere, regardless of how good the forwards are. Dallas absolutely cannot afford to run this defense out there every night. The top pair is fantastic, but Lundkvist hasn't shown that he's ready for an expanded role & who knows if Bichsel is going to be ready to jump from the larger European rink straight to an NHL rink. Putting him in a top-4 role immediately without an extended stay in the AHL may not be the best idea. And that 3rd pair is absolutely atrocious. Lindell's at his best when he plays with someone like Lundkvist. He needs an offensive minded blueliner that can carry the puck, because he's abysmal with it. Pairing him with Suter is an absolute disaster.

SHOULD be what the Stars aim for next season, even if it comes at the expense of losing Pavelski.
