A team losing a selke candidate centre and a potential hart candidate centre to injury is awful. NJD is clearly one of the best teams in the league and is super well constructed. Losing Hischier and Hughes, is really tough. Even they are struggling to compete with them out.

How has Nemec been looking in the AHL? Does he have a chance in the NHL this year?

I feel that Nemec was probebly ready at the start of the year, but he likley wont play in the NHL this year. The devils recently have liked to take time with dmen, luke was definitley ready last year but went back to college. Hopefully we can see Nemec soon, or anyone for that matter as long as his name is not Brendan Smith

I feel like it wouldn't be out of the question for him to get his 9 games, no?

I know for the Sharks they probably weren't planning on bringing Gushchin up this early but with injuries and how well he's played, they really didn't have a choice. I've heard great things about Nemec so far, so if there's an injury it would make sense to give him a few games
