Rumour has it the Flames are on the verge of waiving a vet to send a message through the locker room. There are 9 players the article lists as "vets" that would be enough of a shock to wakeup the lineup, I don't believe the Flames want to lose any of these guys but I wonder from Flames fans POV, who would you waive to shake up the locker room that has either the lowest likelihood in being claimed or the least roster impact if claimed?

Scratched list is the list of players I would consider as "vets", the article only lists 9 (Lindholm, Huberdeau, Kadri, Backstrom, Colman, Weegar, Tanev, Zadorov and Markstrom)

If it's any vet, my belief goes to the following three, Kadri, Coleman, Markstrom (In that order too). Contracts are rough to put it lightly and the play from them except Markstrom has not been beneficial to the flames.

I'd hesitate on Huberdeau mainly because he's of few players that has put up points, and the line of him, Lindholm, and Mangiapane has been the flames best so far.

Zary was their best forward last night, so maybe the message should be playing the guys who are playing the best.

Kadri should be playing like 10 mins a night at best based on the way he’s playing.
